Assistant House Manager
Private Residence | Paris | Live-Out
A fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take their first step into the world of private households and HNW service.
We are looking for an Assistant House Manager to join an established private residence in Paris, supporting the House Manager and wider household team and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the property.
This is not a senior management role, and previous private household experience is NOT essential. What matters far more is that you come from a high-standard service environment, understand what exceptional service looks like and are keen to build a long-term career within private household management.
This could suit someone currently working within a 5-star hotel, luxury hospitality environment, private members’ club or superyacht, perhaps as a junior hotel manager, duty manager, guest relations professional, senior stewardess or 2nd stewardess who is ready to move ashore.
The Role
Working closely with the House Manager and wider household team, you will assist with the smooth operation of the residence and provide a consistently high level of service.
Your responsibilities are likely to include:
- Supporting the House Manager with the day-to-day running of the property
- Coordinating household activity and helping ensure everything is prepared to the required standard
- Liaising with housekeeping, maintenance and external suppliers
- Assisting with guest and Principal requirements
- Helping coordinate appointments, deliveries and contractors
- Maintaining household standards, checklists and routines
- Supporting events, dinners and periods of higher activity
- Assisting with stock control, purchasing and household organisation
- Responding calmly and efficiently to changing priorities
- Helping ensure the residence always operates discreetly, smoothly and professionally
About You
You do not need to have worked within a private household before.
We would be very interested in candidates from:
- 5-star hotels and luxury hospitality
- Guest relations or front-of-house management
- Boutique hotels or luxury resorts
- Private members’ clubs
- Superyachts
- High-end concierge or lifestyle environments
You will ideally be:
- Service-driven and naturally attentive
- Highly organised
- Discreet and professional
- Calm under pressure
- Comfortable working as part of a close-knit team
- Happy to be hands-on
- Confident communicating with colleagues, suppliers and guests
- Keen to learn and develop
- Interested in building a career within the private household sector
A polished approach is important, but personality matters too. We are looking for someone warm, adaptable and genuinely motivated by providing excellent service.
Why is this role of interest?
For someone wanting to enter the private household world, this is a great learning opportunity!
You will gain exposure to the workings of a high-level private residence, learn from experienced household professionals and develop skills that can open the door to future House Manager, Estate Manager and wider private service opportunities.
For somebody coming from hospitality or yachting, it offers the chance to transfer those service skills into a prestigious land-based environment while building valuable private household experience.
