New Build Engineer – Superyacht Projects (Shore-Based Transition)
Location: Various European Shipyards (predominantly Italy)
Salary: €5,000 – €7,000 per month (DOE)

Our client, a leading superyacht project management organisation, is seeking a New Build Engineer to support a series of large yacht construction projects across Europe — typically in the 50–60m range.
This is an excellent opportunity for a 2nd Engineer from the superyacht sector looking to transition ashore and gain first-hand experience across multiple new build programmes. Working within an experienced project team, you’ll provide key engineering input, technical oversight, and practical support throughout each stage of construction, testing, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
	- 
	Support Project Managers and Senior Engineers in planning, coordinating, and monitoring engineering works. 
- 
	Conduct site visits and inspections, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and class requirements. 
- 
	Liaise with shipyard teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure engineering standards are met. 
- 
	Provide hands-on technical input during installation, commissioning, and sea trials. 
- 
	Review and manage engineering documentation and technical submissions. 
- 
	Assist in troubleshooting and resolving on-site technical issues. 
- 
	Contribute to project reports and maintain accurate engineering records. 
Candidate Profile
	- 
	Qualified Marine Engineer (EOOW or higher). 
- 
	Experience as a 2nd Engineer aboard large yachts or vessels (50M+). 
- 
	Previous yard exposure, ideally including refit or new build experience. 
- 
	Solid understanding of marine systems, mechanical installations, and class standards. 
- 
	Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with shipyard and client teams. 
- 
	Proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented, with a willingness to travel as projects progress. 
- 
	Must hold the right to work in the EU.
