Head of Compliance - World-Class Private Superyacht Fleet
Location: Remote (WFH) with International travel as required (Business Class)
The Opportunity
Join the leadership team behind one of the world’s most prestigious privately owned superyacht fleets. These vessels — ranging from luxury yachts to ice-class explorers - represent the cutting edge of private maritime operations.
We are seeking a Head of Compliance with the expertise, confidence, and personality to bring structure and energy to a complex global fleet. You’ll be the guardian of safety, compliance, and operational integrity — but also the kind of leader who communicates with warmth, clarity, and impact.
This role suits a seasoned DPA or Compliance Manager who thrives on precision and documentation, yet enjoys engaging with people at all levels — from deck officers to directors.
The Role
As Head of Compliance, you will lead all aspects of safety management, regulatory compliance, and fleet audit performance. Working closely with the Fleet Technical Superintendent and Captains, you’ll ensure that every vessel operates to the highest international standards - while driving a proactive safety culture built on collaboration, not bureaucracy.
Key Responsibilities:
	-
Maintain and continually improve the fleet’s Safety Management System (SMS)
-
Act as Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and key liaison with Flag, Class, and Port State authorities
-
Oversee ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, and MLC compliance across all vessels
-
Coordinate internal and external audits, surveys, and certification processes
-
Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness initiatives
-
Collaborate with Captains and Engineers to ensure practical, operational compliance
-
Introduce smarter, digital-first compliance tools and reporting systems
The Candidate
An experienced maritime compliance professional who blends discipline with diplomacy. You’ll love structure, process, and paperwork - but you’ll also be engaging, articulate, and able to build trust across diverse teams.
Essential Attributes:
	-
Strong DPA, Compliance Manager, or Safety Superintendent background (yacht or commercial)
-
Expert knowledge of ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, and Class/Flag frameworks
-
Proven experience with internal/external audits and survey management
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
	Pragmatic, personable, and solutions-oriented mindset
-
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment, with occasional global travel
