A private household is seeking an experienced, hands-on Housekeeper / Household Assistant to care for a beautifully appointed residence in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

This is a full-time, year-round position based in Fort Lauderdale, with the opportunity to accompany the household to the Hamptons during the summer months. Private live-in accommodation will be provided while in the Hamptons.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, dependable and highly detail-oriented, with a genuine pride in maintaining an immaculate, organized and welcoming home. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable working independently and naturally notices what needs to be done without requiring constant direction.

The household has dogs and cats, so a genuine love of animals and confidence assisting with their day-to-day care is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the residence to an excellent standard of cleanliness and presentation
• Daily cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
• Make beds, change linens and ensure the home remains tidy and guest-ready
• Manage household laundry, including washing, drying, folding and organizing
• Iron and steam clothing, linens and household textiles
• Care appropriately for clothing and delicate garments
• Maintain closets, wardrobes, cabinets, pantries and storage areas
• Monitor household supplies and communicate replenishment needs
• Maintain refrigerators, laundry rooms and utility areas
• Undertake deep-cleaning and seasonal household projects as required
• Assist with the daily care of the family's dogs and cats, including feeding, medication, litter boxes, regular dog breaks and cleaning up after the animals
• Travel with and assist with the care of the family's animals when required

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have previous professional housekeeping or private household experience and be:

• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Proactive, self-directed and comfortable working independently
• Reliable, discreet and trustworthy
• Experienced with laundry, ironing and garment care
• Comfortable and confident caring for dogs and cats
• Flexible to spend part of the summer in the Hamptons
• Comfortable with occasional schedule flexibility and travel
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Some flexibility for occasional overnight/weekend support and travel as required
