Maritime Compliance Officer & DPA 

Yacht Management | Monaco or UK | International Travel Required

We are seeking a Maritime Compliance Officer & DPA to join a leading yacht management team, supporting a fleet of high-value vessels operating globally.

This is a high-impact, travel-heavy role where you will act as a key link between shore-based management and vessel operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence across the fleet.

The Role

As DPA & CSO, you will take ownership of maritime compliance and HSEQ across your designated vessels. You will work closely with Captains, crew, and internal stakeholders to ensure full compliance with international regulations and company standards.

This is a hands-on position, involving regular international travel to conduct onboard audits, support crews, and drive continuous improvement across safety and compliance systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and Company Security Officer (CSO) for assigned vessels
• Monitor and maintain compliance with ISM, ISPS, MLC, and Flag State requirements
• Conduct internal audits both onboard and ashore
• Serve as the primary point of contact between crew and shore-based management for safety and compliance matters
• Support and guide Captains and crew on best practice, incident response, and regulatory compliance
• Review reports, identify risks, and implement corrective and preventative actions
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS)
• Participate in incident investigations and promote a strong safety culture across the fleet

• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, international environment
• Willing and able to travel frequently at short notice

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a maritime compliance, safety, or HSEQ role (onboard or ashore)
• Strong knowledge of ISM, ISPS, MLC, and international maritime regulations
• Previous superyacht industry experience is advantageous
• Recognised qualification in a relevant maritime discipline

• Location: Monaco or UK
• Salary:
  • Monaco: €6,500 – €7,500 gross per month
  • UK: £6,000 – £7,000 gross per month
• Travel: Extensive international travel required
