Private Massage Therapist & Fitness Coach – HYBRID role

Role Overview

Yacht Size: 80m+ MY / Land based role

Start Date: Trial from January 2027 – interviewing now

Contract: Permanent, following a successful trial – 90 days’ leave per year

Compensation: Excellent package available for the right person

Qualifications: Professional massage qualification (sports & relaxation) – PT / S&C qualification a bonus. STCW not required

Visa Requirements: TBC – extensive international travel

Location: Europe (trial at the owner’s private residence) / On board & worldwide travel

Yacht & Crew Profile

• 80m+ private MY is looking for a Private Massage Therapist & Fitness Coach to the owner
• A true hybrid role – employed through the yacht, splitting time between life on board and travelling with the owners to their residences
• An approximate year looks like 5 months with the yacht, 4 months travelling with the owners and 3 months’ leave – though this varies with the owners’ programme
• Very sporty, active owners – tennis, padel, golf, volleyball, skiing and water sports – you will be required to actively participate in playing sports with the owners
• New position for the yacht – the previous person was with the owners for over 10 years
• Excellent owners’ gym on board with Technogym equipment, and plenty of workouts done outdoors on the big mats
• Accommodation provided on board and during travel, with work-related travel, meals and equipment expenses covered
• Potential funding for relevant training, particularly fitness coaching qualifications

The Role

• Massage is the core of the role: sports and relaxation massage, recovery, mobility and stretching routines
• A typical day includes a 1-hour workout in the morning and a massage in the late afternoon – outside of this, you are on standby.
• Planning and running fitness sessions for the owner and partner, adapted to their schedule, travel and energy levels – not limited to the gym
• Supporting the owners’ sports alongside specialist coaches
• Coordinating with the Captain, Family Office, residence teams and other professionals
• When on board, helping out around the yacht wherever required – this could be interior OR deck
• Spending a lot of time with the owner and partner, whose preferences change – so adaptability is essential
• Yoga or pilates is beneficial but not essential, and nutrition is not a major part of the role
• The role begins with a trial at the owners’ private residence in Europe from January

Role Requirements

• Professional massage training and proven massage experience are essential
• Experience with elite athletes, a sports team, or in a combined massage and physical preparation role is a bonus
• Yacht, private-client or demanding international experience is desirable
• Flexibility is key – leave is taken throughout the year around the owners’ programme and the schedule changes year to year, so you must be able to be fully flexible with your time
• Comfortable with frequent travel and long periods away from home
• Discreet and reliable, with clear professional boundaries – an NDA is a condition of employment
• Strong service mindset and an attentive listener; autonomous, organised and uses initiative
• Personally involved in sport, with a genuine interest in the owners’ activities
• Approachable team player who fits easily into yacht crew life
