Project Manager – Superyacht New Build
Location: Northern Italy
We are seeking a Project Manager overseeing refit one or two new build projects – in the region of 50-60M. This role is ideally suited to a Superyacht Captain looking to transition ashore, bringing operational knowledge and first-hand vessel and yard experience into a project management environment.
The Role:
As Project Manager, you will support the Senior Project Manager in overseeing new build programs, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical and quality standards. You will act as the bridge between the shipyard, owners’ representatives, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring seamless communication and smooth project flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of projects.
- Supervise works during yard periods, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Monitor budgets, schedules, and progress reports, escalating issues when required.
- Liaise closely with captains, crew, shipyards, and contractors.
- Provide technical input, leveraging your seagoing experience.
- Support sea trials and commissioning phases.
Candidate Profile:
- Former or current Superyacht Captain with a 3000GT licence, or 500GT with extensive sea time.
- Proven yard experience: at least 6+ months refit, or involvement in the later stages of a new build project (pre-trials/commissioning).
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Right to work in Italy is essential.
Package:
- Salary: €8,000 – €10,000 per month (DOE).
