Location: Turkey
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Type: Full-time, on-site until mid-2027
Benefits: Accommodation, expenses & flights to be discussed

Overview

An opportunity has opened for an experienced Project Manager to join an owner's team overseeing the build of a 65-meter ice-class yacht in Turkey. This role is critical to the success of the project and will involve hands-on leadership through the complex fit-out stage.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in superyacht new builds, a strong engineering foundation, and the ability to coordinate between subcontractors, the shipyard, and the owner's representatives. You’ll take over the day-to-day management of the project, allowing senior stakeholders to focus on broader company growth initiatives.

This position is ideal for someone looking to embed themselves in a long-term collaboration with future project potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take over project control, coordinating daily activities on site

  • Monitor and report on all subcontractor workstreams (paint, AV/IT, interiors, etc.)

  • Maintain constant awareness of project status and provide quick, accurate updates on demand

  • Negotiate effectively with the shipyard to uphold yacht-quality standards

  • Collaborate closely with design offices, production teams, and owner's representatives

  • Drive change order processes and documentation

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • New build experience from early stages through to completion

  • Experience in shipyards, especially with large yachts (65m+)

  • Background in engineering; capable of engaging confidently with technical experts

  • Strong understanding of the change order process

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple subcontractors and third-party specialists

  • Familiarity with design office coordination and quality control in complex builds

Personal Attributes:

  • Proactive, confident decision-maker

  • Not afraid of responsibility or high-pressure environments

  • Trusted team player who can build strong long-term relationships

  • Culturally adaptable and able to navigate the unique challenges of an international yard

Challenges & Opportunities

  • Strong negotiation and leadership are essential to uphold standards

  • Mid-build involvement means immediate impact is expected, particularly in managing subcontractors during the first fit-out stage

  • Long-term growth: This is a future-proofing hire – success in this role could lead to continued collaboration on upcoming projects (including a second yacht in Italy already in contract talks)

Organizational Context

  • Key collaborators include:

    • Third-party specialists (paint, AV/IT, fabrication, interiors)

    • The design office

    • The build team

    • Owner’s representative

Additional Notes

  • The role will suit an experienced independent contractor with strong new-build and technical project management credentials

  • Flexibility, confidence, and a steady hand are critical as the project enters a pivotal stage

  • This position presents a rare opportunity to work on a high-profile yacht build and build a longer-term relationship with an ambitious organization expanding its yachting footprint
